Press Release Drummond AS2-1Q09

22 Products Complete Drummond Certified AS2 Interoperability Certification

Drummond Group, the trusted interoperability test lab, today announced that 22 AS2 software products from U.S and international companies completed the AS2-1Q09 Drummond Certified Interoperability testing. AS2 (Applicability Statement 2) is the IETF specification standard by which applications communicate all forms of data including EDI and XML over the Internet. Implementing AS2 enables users to connect, deliver and reply to data securely and reliably, saving money and adding flexibility and control on how the data is utilized or reported. This testing continues to demonstrate the worldwide growth and acceptance of the AS2 standard and the importance of the Drummond Certified interoperability program.

Austin, TX June 9, 2009 -- Drummond Group, the trusted interoperability test lab, today announced that 22 products completed the AS2-1Q09 Drummond Certified Interoperability testing. Companies include Axway, Boomi, Cleo Communications, E2open, EDS, an HP company, EXTOL International, Inc., Generix Group, IBM, Inovis, INTEC Inc., /n Software Inc., nuBridges, Inc., SEEBURGER AG, Sterling Commerce, and TIBCO Software Inc.

A Drummond Certified test brings together the most recent and prior product versions and tests them as they would be used in production environments. This ensures that this group of AS2 products will seamlessly interoperate across the supply chain and distribution channels.

The products undergo real-world test scenarios to demonstrate that they complied with a common level of interoperability, enabling them to effectively communicate out-of-the-box. Drummond Certified testing drastically reduces the potential troubleshooting efforts had they been deployed without this testing. Certification eliminates costly communication obstacles and facilitates efficient trading partner relationship as new products and new versions of products roll out into production.

"Passing an interoperability test round does not guarantee perpetual interoperability," says Rik Drummond. "New products and updated product versions can introduce interoperability and compliance issues, and all versions of products deployed in production must be periodically tested with these new AS2 products and new versions. Interoperability testing must be repeated to ensure continued interoperability with the ever-changing product releases."

Drummond Group's website has been restructured to assist customers in their purchase of AS2 certified products. Interoperability does age over time and, to avoid confusion with buyers, Drummond Group will now be listing products on the website as: 1.) Current Certified Product List, and 2.) Aged Product List. The "Current Certified Product List" will contain the products from the two most recent certification events. The "Aged Product List" will contain all other products from outside these two most recent test events.

Drummond Group highly recommends that buyers of new AS2 products choose products listed on the Current Certified Product List. Existing users should monitor the Drummond website to ensure that the version of the product they use remains on the Current Certified Product List. Buying and using products that are listed on the Current Certified Product List provides the highest level of AS2 interoperability assurance.
