It is not uncommon for larger companies to run different systems in every division, as IT purchasing decisions are not centralized. The increase in globalization, mergers & acquisitions, and outsourcing perpetuate heterogeneous IT infrastructures and further the complexity of data distribution. Just as an organization must ensure efficiency and automation with their outside trading partners, it is just as critical, if not more, to ensure end-to-end communication internally.
Common Challenges
- Distribution of price lists and orders affects customer deliveries
- Inaccurate inventory and stock levels leads to shortages or excess levels of inventory on hand
- Customers are distributing blanket Purchase Orders to global organizations which require delivery and invoicing from multiple divisions.
- Industry mandates such as Sarbanes-Oxley are stretching the limitations of manual financial processes that cross multiple systems
The Solution
SEEBURGER BIS:Data Distribution automatically manages the communication of inter-company data between the headquarters and multiple business units, regardless of their back-end system or geographic locations. Whether the process requires real-time integration, event-based triggers, or detailed scheduling, SEEBURGER solutions ensure guaranteed delivery and traceability.
Data Distribution Functionality
- Controlled data exchange - Time- or event driven, automated sending and receiving of messages (orders, item lists, payment information, etc.)
- Efficient communication - The ability to use different communication channels (Internet, VAN via TCP/IP, etc.) and future-proof messaging services such as ebXML or EDIINT AS2.
- Adaptation to different system interfaces - Converters for the translation of different data formats (XML, EDIFACT, ANSI X.12, VDA, etc.) and business logic can be integrated
- Process design - Configuration of event driven processes for the automated handling of business processes via workflow systems.
- Monitoring - All company divisions, participating in the data exchange process, are visualized graphically with their respective dependencies. You have the ability to centrally monitor all transmission processes, e. g. transmission status of orders sent by the various divisions. Special focus is given to evaluations and the treatment of errors.
- Security - Optional, data encryption and use of an encrypted communication (https). Reliable messaging through automatic acknowledgement, archiving, recognition of duplicates, etc. Secure application firewalls with restriction on released functions and actions.
