Greiner Bio-One, based in Kremsmünster, Austria, is a leading company in the fields of preanalytics, life science, diagnostics and OEM. With production facilities at 7 locations, 20 sales offices and distribution partners in over 100 countries, the company is well represented worldwide. With approximately 2,300 employees, sales of 473 million euros were generated in 2017.
Greiner Bio-One has been using the SEEBURGER B2B/EDI solution for data exchange with over 500 active partners (customers and suppliers) worldwide since 2004. In 2015, the company migrated its previous in-house operation to the SEEBURGER EDI Cloud Service. In addition, Greiner Bio-One utilised SEEBURGER’s e-invoicing solutions for VAT reporting in Hungary, Italy and Spain.
In Hungary, the obligation to report to the national tax and customs administration (NAV) applies to all outgoing invoices with a tax value of 100,000 HUF. Italy prescribes electronic transmission in the business-to-government (B2G) area for all outgoing invoices to public institutions (clinics, laboratories, universities etc.). Spain has stipulated the reporting of all tax relevant incoming and outgoing invoices electronically since 2017.

Global E-Invoicing at Greiner Bio-One
With the SEEBURGER E-Invoicing Service, Greiner Bio-One is able to implement country-specific requirements for electronic invoicing in an up-to-date and timely manner, even if only a few invoices per month are required. SEEBURGER‘s out-of-the-box solutions include conversion to target formats, signing of data, secure transmission via protocols prescribed by the country authorities and forwarding to long-term archives.
With SEEBURGER, an official Pan-European Public Procurement OnLine (Peppol) Access point, Greiner Bio-One can easily implement Peppol B2G invoices for Belgium in the near future. The same applies to the processing of B2T invoices in the UK via the clearing house MTDfB (HMRC), and for incoming B2G orders in the healthcare sector (NSO) via Peppol in Italy.
