SEEBURGER Managed File Transfer recognized at Best in Biz Awards 2013

SEEBURGER Managed File Transfer (MFT) ensures rapid and secure transfer of data both to and from mobile devices.

This is why judges at this year’s Best in Biz Awards again recognized lots of security products in the EMEA region. The SEEBURGER solution for Managed File Transfer (MFT) was awarded second place in the Enterprise Product of the Year category.

A recent Microsoft survey on data security found that only 34 per cent of smartphone users who participated in the survey use a password to secure their mobile device. Many of these smartphone users also use their phones to download mission-critical data for business purposes. “These figures show just how important MFT solutions are to ensuring secure data transfer. If sensitive data is stored on a smartphone and goes missing, it can result in costly financial damages for the company, and a loss of trust on the part of clients and partners. A MFT platform closes any similar gaps in security and enables fast, secure transfer of all types and volumes of data. End-to-end monitoring provides a transparent overview of who sent which files to which recipient, and if and when they were downloaded.

A centralized authorization tool also means that only authorized individuals can access files as temporary downloads, by entering a password. The original file is always stored centrally in the MFT system, which is especially crucial if employees are using mobile devices. The solution can also be fully integrated with existing IT and SAP landscapes – for example, it can easily be linked up with Microsoft Outlook.
