Bretten – SEEBURGER AG, a global leader in business integration, announced today the enhanced SEEBURGER Registered Reporting Mechanism (RRM) Service to help the utility market meet the reporting obligations under the REMIT EU regulation 1227/201. Under this regulation, strict rules apply with respect to reporting deadlines, file format and documentation of file transfers.

SEEBURGER is a global provider of business integration including business-to-business integration (B2B), electronic data interchange (EDI), managed file transfer (MFT), and application programming interface (API) solutions to enable any company’s digital transformation. SEEBURGER RRM Service is one of the largest used RRM Services in Europe, helping over 800 companies meet the regulatory obligations of Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT) and European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR).

SEEBURGER RRM Service, part of the SEEBURGER Cloud, offers energy suppliers an array of quick and cost-effective standardized solutions to map and automate their market processes. The services range from a simple tool used to securely transfer personal data in clarification cases, through the monitoring service used to keep track of your entire market communication, up to the outsourcing service where the SEEBURGER team processes all your data and fully takes over your entire market communication.

In the report, Predicts 2017: Energy and Utilities Get Ready for Digital Disruption¹ Gartner predicts “by 2020, 40% of CIOs in energy and utilities will have overall consolidated responsibility for operational technology (OT).” Gartner recommends that utility CIOs “engage operations and engineering leaders to establish a shared vision for the digital utility of the future and the role that OT will play. This will build trust and establish the necessary collaboration to take on OT ownership.”1

The SEEBURGER RRM Service is registered with the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER), the organization that monitors and regulates European energy markets, with the objective of promoting transparency and stability. SEEBURGER RRM Service features include:

  • Receive and manage the transaction data of your reporting system provided in the latest XML format used by ACER, including feedback, acknowledgements, MDNs, error handling etc.
  • Secure and encrypted data transfer (PGP, 2048 Bit) via SFTP from your reporting system to the RRM Service, and via SFTP to ACER’s ARIS system.
  • Support for standard contract or non-standard contract reporting
  • Option to delegate the reporting process: The RRM Service enables not only the transfer of the reporting data of your company, but also the transfer of the data of your business partners.
  • Available on-premise, hybrid or 100% in the cloud

“We are very pleased to offer a standardized, flexible and easy to use solution that helps the utility industry remain complaint. Digitally connecting business partners and suppliers, and being able to send files securely while maintaining regulatory rules is the key to a successful business integration platform, and RRM Service offers that and more,” said Michael Kleeberg, co CEO, SEEBURGER AG.
