Philips have a wide portfolio of business partners and to ensure the EDI data exchange Philips has selected SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS), already back in 2010. SEEBURGER BIS enables the connection between Philips and their B2B partners using standard processes and ways of data exchange to support maximum business value.
Philips architectural set-up is based on SAP PI for intra company integration, for partner specific mappings and mappings to internal format SEEBURGER BIS act as the central (One-EDI) B2B/EDI Integration Gateway for the EDI communication (e.g. E-Invoicing), partner Onboarding services, and for the specific connectivity requirements with their trading partners.
Philips One-EDI Gateway (powered by SEEBURGER BIS) is one of the capabilities to connect to their external business partners, supporting various message standards such as EDIFACT and ANSI X.12, encryption methods and connectivity standards. The use of standard processes enables Philips to easier set-up, implement and maintain new and existing B2B trading partner connections. Today Philips One-EDI Gateway serves over 140 trading partners connected via SFTP, AS2 or X.400 and around 70 internal connections for the exchange of e.g. master data and financial data, handling around 250.000 transactions per month.
