SEEBURGER and Movitz today announced the launch of a Payee Verification solution designed to help financial institutions and corporates improve payment accuracy, reduce fraud, and seamlessly integrate payee validation into their existing payment workflows.

While Verification of Payee (VoP) services have been live across euro-area countries for over a year, adoption within corporate payment processes remains limited, particularly for file-based payment workflows. Many corporates continue to express strong demand for account verification capabilities, but organizations have faced challenges implementing solutions that improve payment safety without creating significant operational disruption.

The joint SEEBURGER and Movitz solution addresses this gap by embedding payee verification directly into existing payment processes, enabling organizations to strengthen payment controls while maintaining established operational workflows. SEEBURGER BIS manages the secure exchange, transformation, orchestration, and processing of payment data, while Movitz provides access to payee verification services through a unified API. This allows a smooth and secure Verification of Payee experience within existing file-based and API-driven payment scenarios.

By integrating Payee Verification into ERP-driven payment processes, organizations can identify incorrect or suspicious account details before payment execution, reduce payment errors, and strengthen controls against invoice redirection fraud while maintaining established payment workflows.

“Payee verification should be available wherever payment decisions are made,” said Isak Penttilä, Head of Product at Movitz. “Together with SEEBURGER, we are helping organizations reduce payment risk while simplifying the adoption of verification services across multiple payment channels.”

“For corporates and financial institutions, the challenge is not only performing the verification. It is integrating verification into the payment processes they already use,” added Ulf Persson, Senior Vice President Strategic Product Management and Analyst Relations at SEEBURGER. “By combining Movitz Global Payee Verification with SEEBURGER BIS, organizations gain a practical way to embed verification into high-volume file-based and API-driven payment workflows.”

By combining Movitz’s verification services with SEEBURGER’s integration capabilities, the solution provides a practical and scalable approach to extending Payee Verification across payment channels, regardless of payment formats. It enables organizations to move beyond isolated implementations and establish payee verification as an embedded capability within their payment operations—supporting improved payment accuracy, reduced fraud exposure, and consistent validation outcomes at scale.
